"Before There Was A Platform, There Was Pain"

Why This Story Matters

If you've ever felt overlooked, undervalued, or broken by people or places that were supposed to protect you-this is for you.

“This space was created for anyone who knows what it’s like to be let down by people you trusted.”

(Dr. Danny R. Nixon, D.S.M)

I didn’t build this out of a branding brainstorm.
I built this from pain, from overwhelm, and from seasons where I wondered if I’d ever feel whole again.

There were moments I gave my all — to people, to ministry, to purpose — and still ended up feeling like I wasn’t enough.
Not “churchy” enough. Not silent enough. Not what they expected.
I found myself carrying the weight of trying to please people while secretly wondering…

“Why do I have to break myself just to belong?”

I’ve served. I’ve poured. I’ve shown up — suited or not, heart in hand — and still felt unseen.
Still felt like I had to overperform just to get a seat.
Still felt like I had to dim my truth to keep the peace.
And when life got real… when I hit that wall… some of the people I thought would be there just weren’t.

That’s where The Drawn Collective was born.
Not out of bitterness.
Not out of rebellion.
But out of the truth that healing is necessary, and being real shouldn’t disqualify you from being loved.

This space was created for anyone who knows what it’s like to be:
• Let down by people you trusted
• Told to shrink in order to be accepted
• Looked past, talked about, or replaced
• Or yes… even hurt in church — not because the church is bad, but because people are imperfect.

Let’s be clear:

We’re not here to bash the church. Not at all.
We honor the role it plays. But we also know that church hurt is real, and so is family hurt, friendship hurt, leadership hurt, self-hurt…
We’re just choosing to be honest about the things that often get ignored — so people can finally heal for real.

This is for the ones who:
• Still crave God, but aren’t sure who to trust anymore
• Feel like they’ve been carrying silent pain with nowhere to lay it down
• Know what it’s like to be gifted… but guarded
• Powerful… but picked apart
• Called… but crushed along the way.

I know what that feels like —because I’ve lived it.

But I also know this:

You don’t have to perform to be powerful.
You don’t have to fit their mold to be called.
And you don’t have to walk through healing alone.

I created this space for people like me.
People like you.
People who are ready to be seen, restored, and reignited — without the masks.

So if you’ve ever been pushed to the side, doubted, mislabeled, or made to feel like your best wasn’t enough…
Welcome home.

We’re building something real here.
And your heart belongs in the room.
